We have had so many gifts from the Lord this week. We were able to say our last goodbyes to the Klingler's on Tuesday (which was a bittersweet gift). They left on Saturday evening, and the new mission president, President Layton and Sister Layton are here now. The Klingler's have been such a great example and blessing to the mission and we will miss them. But we are excited for the new experiences that are ahead of us.
Also, our BOYS GOT BAPTIZED! It was the best baptism I have been to on my mission. Their grandma and one of their teachers in the ward spoke, and their Mom even came to the baptism. During their testimonies...they both just cried. It was so cute, all their dreams came true that very night. And at church on Sunday morning they received the gift of the Holy Ghost (which they also cried through). When they were asked to stand and be welcomed as the newest members of the ward, the smiles on their faces were so contagious! The gift of the gospel they now have in their life will be able to carry them through those challenging times. And the gift of the Spirit that they have will be able to lead them and guide them to stay on the right path.
A gift that Sister Eneri and I have been blessed with the past few weeks has been the gift of communicating. As missionaries, we are always talking to people, whether we know them, or not. But we also have the chance to speak to people in the language of the gospel, whether it be in their mother tongue, or in sign language/charades. I have such a strong testimony of the unifying language of this gospel. Whether or not we can understand what exactly is being said, the Spirit is able to tell our hearts and our minds what we hear is true. I love it! Our English classes have been really fun. We have now finished the alphabet and are going to start learning primary songs. The power of music helps us feel closer to our Heavenly Father!
Charity is a gift that we are given from our Heavenly Father, but we have to work for it. We have to sincerely seek after it, pray for it (Moroni 7:47-48), and exercise it daily in order for us to receive it. It's not easy, but it's worth it because "the greatest is CHARITY!" (1Cor.13:13).
And the GREATEST GIFT OF ALL is the gift of ETERNAL LIFE! We aren't close yet, but day by day we can feel the blessings and get the strength we need to keep going!
