What rock? REVELATION!
This week our big focus was of the importance of receiving a testimony through the witness of the Holy Ghost. As a missionary, we run into lots of people who have a testimony of the missionaries that taught them, but after they are transferred, the people never come back to church. That's what makes missionary work so hard! When we find those who were introduced to the gospel, but never truly converted by receiving the Holy Ghost telling them the truth.
We have our two boys who are going to be baptized next Saturday. They are so excited! It's so fun teaching them because we can see that they are being touched by the Holy Ghost as they continue to learn and grow in the gospel. They go home and teach their aunties the things that they learn, and it just makes Sister Eneri and I so happy because they are falling in love with the gospel. I love that...watching people I have come to love so much fall in love with the true gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ! And that love is fueled and nurtured by the continual exposure and recognition of the Spirit in our lives and in our hearts, testifying to us the truthfulness of all things.
Our family that we have been working with also came to church, all by themselves this week. It was awesome! We had a great Sunday School lesson with them talking about how Jesus Christ was the chosen Savior and Redeemer of the world. We, all of us, every single person who has ever been born to the earth, is in NEED of the Savior Jesus Christ. "...There is no other way or means whereby man can be saved, only in and through Christ. Behold, he is the life and the light of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness."(Alma 38.9). It's so true! My testimony of this has grown so much as I have continued to come to know my Savior, and use His atonement to grow closer to Him and become a better daughter of our Heavenly Father. He really is the way, the truth and the life! "Come unto Christ, and by His grace be made holy again, He's calling your name, He's waiting for you, with arms open wide, Come unto Christ!”
We also went to a SWEET cultural night on Saturday night in honor of Elder and Sister Hamula of the Area Presidency. They came to say goodbye to Fiji because they are going back to the States for his calling. We went up to the LDS Primary school and watched some awesome dances put on by the kids and youths of the stakes around the area. It was so awesome! I wish I was a real Fijian and could dance like those cool cats! Maybe one day… But one thing I have grown to love on the mission is the many cultures that we have in the world. God truly does love all of His children, and the traditions that they keep can teach us how to love and appreciate the beauty of the world around us.
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL YOU DAD’S OUT THERE…ESPECIALLY MY OWN DAD KIRK! I LOVE YOU DAD! And congrats to my cousin Braeden for graduating from high school!! WOOHOOO!!!
