It's heating up out here!

Now that 'winter' is coming to a close, it is getting quite warm out here in Fiji.  This week had some of our hottest days yet!  I got a pretty sweet sunburn from walking around, so that's really exciting (whitegirlproblems).

This week we have had lots of experiences that have strengthened our testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel.  Earlier this week, we were teaching some of our new investigators- the friends of the YSA.  We have group lessons during the week, and teach them together sometimes.  At the beginning of this week, we showed the Joseph Smith Restoration movie for all of them, and it was quite a hit.  They all loved it, and even asked if we could watch it again at church haha.  But this week we decided to meet with the investigators one on one, and good thing we did, because we had some great lessons.  On Thursday we invited 2 of them to be baptized in October.  Yay!!!  It was right after we shared about the plan of salvation, and things that we need to do on the earth in order to prepare to return to live with our Father in Heaven again, and they both said baptism was one thing we needed to do.  Well then we invited them, and they both accepted so quickly! Then we asked "Have you been waiting for us to ask you?" and they said "....yes...." and looked all shy and stuff.  What the heck, why didnt you guys just ask us!!  But I guess that they just wanted to have us invite them.  But we are way excited for them.

We also invited another investigator yesterday to be baptized at the end of October too.  We have only met with him a few times, but he told us yesterday that he was ready to join the church.  He loved the story of Joseph Smith and told us right away that he believed the story to be true.  How crazy is the way that the spirit works! I can hardly believe what miracles it can produce.  Also some exciting news, we had a baptism yesterday.  Our recent convert from July was able to perform the baptism too!  So lucky for him to exercise his new priesthood power, and have the chance to baptize his friend.  It was such a great baptism, even if they had to do it 4 times until he went all the way under haha.  It was awesome!

On Thursday, we had the chance to go to a memorial service for 3 men who passed away on a fishing trip.  The boat capsized, and their bodies went missing.  One of the famlies is a recent convert couple in our branch, and Sister Aoina and I have become really close to them.  It was a good service, but what really made it all worth it was hearing the testimonies of the recent convert couple.  They said that even though it is a very VERY sad time for them, they know where their son is right now, and they know what they have to do to see him again.  They had just finished reading the Book of Mormon together, and then this incident happened.  I know that the Lord was preparing them for this hard time by helping their testimony of the BOM grow, so that they would be able to endure this hardship.
One thing this week that I have grown my testimony on- the power of the Holy Ghost.  It causes us to do things and to say things that on our own, we would not have done.  I have such a strong testimony of the importance of FOLLOWING the promptings of the Spirit.  We are still having a great time in Somosomo.  The work is crazy busy, but we are loving every minute of it!  Sister Aoina and I are so blessed to have had the time that we have here!

Love you all, and hope things are going well at home!
